2009 Spring Season Review
Our CHALLENGE and CLASSIC teams have continued their remarkable progress. Success is not simply measured in games won, but the attention that is given to individual skills and team awareness. The overriding factor must be kids having fun and wanting to play then continuing to do that while trying to win.
Challenge Teams
U9 Boys……strong age group. Our teams finished top of the Gold and Bronze divisions.The Claymores won the FCCA tournament. Our Highlanders team played at u10 Gold level with great success.
U9 Girls…..The Glaswegians played up at u10 Gold and competed very well. They managed to win tournaments at FCCA and in Hickory. Our Aberdonians finished top of the Gold division. The young Lothians continued to progress.
U10 Boys…..The Highlander played at u11 Silver and finished with 100% record. They also won in the Charlotte United tournament. Our other 2 teams progressed well. Several of the players at this level will move onto Classic soccer next season.
U10 Girls…..continued to progress.
U11 Boys…Three teams making good steps forward. Jacobites won the Bronze division. Several players will move on to classic soccer.
U11 Girls….probably the happiest team. Good platform for the girls.
U12 Boys…..Several players now ready for Classic.
U13 Boys…..Finished top of their league.
Classic Teams
U11 Boys….Highlanders finished second in top league. Lost only 2 league games in a year. Claymores finished top of their league. Very strong age group that promises well for future.
U11 Girls…..competed well in very tough top division.
U12 Boys ….consolidated well in top division. Won 2 tournaments in Spring.
U13 Boys…Highlanders improved as season went on playing in top division.. Qualified for final four in State tournament. Our Claymores team improved from Fall.
U13 Girls .... 100% record in their league. Won Mathews Tournament. Qualified for final four in State Cup.
U14 Boys .... Continued to improve despite several injuries affecting selection. Winners of Gaston Tournament.
