Fall 2008 Season Review

Our Challenge and Classic teams have continued their remarkable progress. We are now in only our fifth year but we have gone from 3 to 25 teams. Success is not simply measured in games won. Attention is given to individual skills and team awareness. The overriding factor must be kids having fun and wanting to play then continuing to do that while trying to win.

Challenge League - 17 Teams

  • Under 9 Girls......Our Glaswegian team finished with 100% record in their gold division. They have also played games against strong older teams and performed very well. The Aberdonian and Lothian teams have also made great progress. A joy to watch these young girls play.

  • Under 9 Boys.....What can we say. Three teams in 3 divisions. Total 24 games. Wins 23 ties 1 Losses 0. Incredible !

  • Under 10 Girls....Two new teams that have steadily improved.

  • Under 10 Boys... Three strong teams in their leagues. Our Highlanders team have only lost one game all season.

  • Under 11 Girls.... A new group of girls. Progress is being made with one of the team earning a chance to play at classic level.

  • Under 11 Boys... Numerically our largest age group. Three teams at this level have given opportunity for kids to step up to a good standard.

  • Under 12 Boys... Finished second in their league.

  • Under 13 Boys... Again a new team. A tough ask in a league combining a older age level. Good signs of improvement.

  • Classic Program - 8 Teams

  • Under 11 Girls.. Playing very well in a competitive top division. Lots of ties ! Plenty of promise.

  • Under 11 Boys.. Highlanders team continuing where they left off last Spring. Finished top of their A division. Our Claymores team have again played well emphasizing the strength of our program at that age level.  What potential when we go 11 v 11.

  • Under 12 Boys.. The core of last years team joined by a group of new players. Another team progressing well in the A division.

  • Under 13 girls.. A tough season for a great bunch of girls. After a good pre season tournament win the Division A league has proved a steep mountain to climb. Not helped by a couple of injuries. New players settling in well. High hopes for a successful Spring.

  • Under 13 Boys.. Our Highlanders team have had to re-group. After a fantastic three years the team has moved to 11v11 soccer.  They will continue to play in the A Division in the Spring.  The team is full of potential and have steadily improved. Our Claymores team have found the switch to Classic from challenge very difficult.  Suffered from losing a strong player to our Highlanders team at the start of the season.

  • Under 14 Boys...In the Spring earned the right to play First division. Excellent season this Fall. Have finished second and just missed out on promotion to Premier level. Only one league defeat.

  • GREAT EFFORT FROM ALL OUR PLAYERS AND COACHES.
